Black Technology
One of the biggest mysteries at the start of Full Metal Panic is the origin of the highly advanced technology that allows the existence of humanoid mecha on the battlefield and the creation of weapons that rival nuclear warheads in power and danger levels. At the end of Fighting Boy Meets Girl, Kalinin even comments that the technology is too advanced and has come much further in the previous ten years than anyone thought possible. As the story progresses, the extent of what black technology can do and where it comes from is reavealed.
